Why I Love… Winnie The Pooh

‘Some people care too much. I think it’s called love.’

Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
“Pooh!” he whispered.
“Yes Piglet?”
“Nothing” said Piglet, taking Pooh’s paw.
“I just wanted to be sure of you.”

I looked in all the places you aren’t. I just can’t find the places you are.
I only know that you are where I am not.’

“Rabbit’s clever,” said Pooh thoughtfully.
“Yes,” said Piglet, “Rabbit’s clever.”
“And he has Brain.”
“Yes,” said Piglet, “Rabbit has Brain.”
There was a long silence.
“I suppose,” said Pooh, “that that’s why he never understands anything.”

‘”Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think. Because although eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.”’

I used to believe in forever, but forever’s too good to be true’

“I’m not lost for I know where I am. But however, where I am may be lost.”

“‘I don’t see much sense in that,” said Rabbit.
“No,” said Pooh humbly, “there isn’t. But there was going to be when I began it. It’s just that something happened to it along the way.'”

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

‘“Hallo, Rabbit,” he said, “is that you?”
“Let’s pretend it isn’t,” said Rabbit, “and see what happens.”’

“Sometimes I sits and thinks, and sometimes I just sits.”

‘“Oh, Eeyore, you are wet!” said Piglet, feeling him.
Eeyore shook himself, and asked somebody to explain to Piglet what happened when you had been inside a river for quite a long time.”’

‘”What do you say, Pooh?”
Pooh opened his eyes with a jerk and said, “Extremely.”
“Extremely what?” asked Rabbit.
“What you were saying,” said Pooh. “Undoubtedly.”’

“…he [Piglet] thought how sad it was to be an Animal who had never had a bunch of violets picked for him.”

“If you live to be a hundred, I want to live to be a hundred minus one day so I never have to live without you.”

‘Promise me you’ll always remember: If ever there is a tomorrow when we’re not together, there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart, I’ll always be with you.’
