It is so easy to forget what we give and receive when in love. We do so willingly, wantingly. We give because it makes us happy. We take because we feel safe to indulge and bask in the generosity of love. We don’t borrow, we take. We don’t lend, we give. We don’t offer, we insist.
We don’t keep score. We don’t do the maths. We forget what we give.
But one person has shown me how important it is that we remember those very things. Through love, hate or indifference, whether healthy or heartbroken. She has not forgotten. She has shown me my worth. She has shown me the price of love. She has shown me the price of me.
Now I will never forget.
